The novel offers a compelling reimagining of the Eros and Psyche myth, exceeding expectations and leaving a lasting impression. Its exceptional quality and evocative darkness fostered considerable contemplation.
nah because this book was actually really good. the first half i didn't know what to think, but eventually i did really like it. cash was so whipped for ariana and she just wanted to be loved and that broke my HEART. she's been through so much and i like that cash understood that. the plot was good, and i think it followed cohesively though, i think the final 'showdown' could've been spread out a bit more, just to create more tension rather than include that tension earlier on.
anyway, i just found this bit that cash said so adorable: “Of course I love you.” … “How could I do anything but?”
reminds me of how single i am and how my marriage of convenience husband will never admit that he loves me after taking a bullet for me

2/5🌶️ Holy shit this was an emotionally fucked book. The things that Ariana when through as a kid because of her mother’s jealousy is so fucked. It was really discouraging hearing when she had to go through. And the fact that her abuse started when Kal’s ended makes it worse. But she really popped off by going around and killing all the people that hurt her. As for Cash, I was not expecting him to have such a dark side. In a previous book it looked like he was a rule follower since he is a lawyer. I loved that after seeing Ariana once, Cash was basically addicted to her and was willing to pay millions of dollars to make her his wife to protect her. And him helping her work through her trauma little by little without really meaning to was good for Ariana. Also him possibly being a virgin was a plot point I want expecting and I wish we could have gotten confirmation about that.

4.25⭐️ audio reread Feb 25..
while I agree with everything I said before, I don't know, Adrianna just holds a lot of middle child syndrome issues and resentment to her sisters.. and while I believe she has a lot more backbone than some other fmcs , I wished she confided in her sisters.
and I forgot Cash grazed the driver just out of jealously.
.................
(listened to the audiobook) 5⭐️ 4🌶
loved one despite the slow beginning! the characters are just so gripping, and their chemistry was just explosive, and the plot with twists and turns just kept me interested.
🔥Marriage of convenience
🔥Mafia princess/ ballerina x Lawyer
🔥slow burn
🔥Eros x Psyche re telling
🔥Forced Proximity
🔥Auction
🔥Revenge Plot
I liked how we've slowly circled back to the Ricci family (book 1 was elena, book 5 is her sibling). And everything has come full circle.
Arianna is probably the strongest FMC in this series. She did what she had to to survive! She remained strong and resilient despite the traumas she went through. And may I add...shes morally grey.. with a drive for revenge ! BADASS QUEEN! And ballet was her saving grace. Her escape from the life she was brought up in.
and then we have Cash... an inexperienced workaholic, the silent type of Alpha who EXUDES POWER AND DANGER 🥵🥵 He treats Arianna as an equal! He is so possessive, I swoon! and the way he says "husband" is soooo dirty!
In this house we love THE PRIMROSES ! 🔥❤️😈
and a certain character from book 1 gets their comeuppance...

, this is “extra spicy” and it definitely is but it’s also a good mix of plot to filth. it was really good & i love Miller’s style and her characters, both the FMC & MMC which feels rare to me. this one did not give me all the feels that Arrows & Apologies did but i appreciate a damaged FMC working through her shit and i LOVE any romance that doesn’t hinge on a miscommunication trope. the biggest plus for me in this one was Cash’s refusal to leave or get upset with Ariana & i wish more smut portrayed (dramatic) but realistic adult with relationships and two people who can speak about their feelings. i’m excited to finish out the series - but i may consider rereading #3 as i literally do not remember a single scene from that novel? it was 3 years ago ish per goodreads and i rated it highly but i have erased the novel from my filofax.
