A engrossing account of history that both shames and enrages. A heavily worded tome to incrementally balance the limited exploration of the history of life in and around Britain.

An excellent book. It's quite short but that doesn't mean it isn't informative. It's very accessible which makes it a brilliant choice for children (10+ in my opinion) or for adults looking for a concise history of being black and British. I read it wanting to see whether it was appropriate for my Year 6 class but ended up finishing it wanting to read a more in-depth account so I look forward to reading more of Olusoga's work.

Incredibly eye-opening as I had very little in depth knowledge of the role of black people within British History. Perfect audio book for me with some great explanations and a great way of story-telling all these peoples lives.
I would recommend to anyone wanting to learn a little.
