Wow. This is definitely a reading experience that will stick with me forever.

This is my first Parker S Huntington novel, and it will not be my last! I've had my eye on this among others, but the subject was what kept me pushing it further down my tbr--because I have personal experience with it and wasn't quite sure if it would be handled well--I knew it would be heavy.

Parker's prose is just perfection. The healing that the Hero and heroine experience, through the darkness that is their mutual grief, was beautiful.

What a truly special book.

I think it's best to go into this book blind and just experience the emotional roller-coaster. This was a story of two people connecting over shared grief and guilt. It's a slow-burn enemies to lovers, a journey of two souls that went through tragedy and found each other, healed each other.

It discusses important topics like mental health and grief. Hey, I wasn't even halfway through this book when I started sobbing. It has a few triggers so make sure to check them out before picking it up.

It's intense, raw, and emotional as heck. And yes, it has spice. One of the scenes has me in a chokehold I kid you not.

This was the kind of romance that reminds me why I love to read romance so much. It had a bit of everything that my heart desires.

I think it's clear, I highly recommend this book.

OH MY GAWD!

I can't believe this book. I-I can't express in words how much I loved it. It is a very heavy book, but deserves all the love in the world. Make sure to check trigger warnings before you read it tho.

This one is hard to review. Hard to read at times too.

But it was a beautiful story of love, loss & healing.

My only complaint is this book was wayyyy longer than necessary.

I think this is my second book by her and I felt the same way about the other one. Super good but too long.

But I’m becoming a big fan of this author either way!

Def worth a read!

There was something perpetually tragic about us. Even in moments of peace. We were two empty planets, bound by grief and a gravitational pull neither of us could deny. Destined to collide and end in a fiery death.

What.the.fuck. The ending of chapter one left my jaw on the floor.
After being disappointed with My Dark Romeo I honestly didn't expect this one to be as good as it was.

I enjoyed the red thread with Kellan's Darling Venom throughout the book and loved the redemption arcs of the characters. However, I found the epilogue a bit rushed and was somewhat disappointed with the romance aspect. There was just not enough of it present.
Despite this the book was still very enjoyable overall and I had a lot of fun reading it.

I honestly don’t think I can put into words how much I loved this book.

Was it long, and I was a little skeptical about a girl falling in love with her dead best friend’s brother? Yes.

But did it also have me sobbing, highlighting like crazy, and wanting to read the authors entire backlist? Also yes.

This book touched on death and grief in such a raw manner that I don’t think I’ll ever recover from.

There were multiple scenes I went back and read over again, and I bought a physical copy before I even finished.

Absolutely would recommend to people to read, but as always, check your trigger warnings and bring your tissues.
