What a load of old codswallop this was.
It started out with a little bit of interest but then was just alternatively dull and ridiculous.
It seemed to be without any focus or direction and meandered all over the place.
It never maintained your interest and the whole time you were thinking Patterson stay in your lane write. a diopey thriller if you want but stop trying to write this because this was just terrible.

This is one of those books where James Patterson steps out of his normal genre and writes something different. The story moved nicely but I felt like the ending was a little - Ehhh. Not a big deal. Overall it was a fun easy ready that kept me entertained for a few days.

This was a really fun read. It does feel like a YA novel but not in a bad way. It's very fast paced and really kept me guessing.

Chose this book randomly from Patterson's books after watching his masterclass. Probably won't read another.

Very pedestrian writing. I only made it to 16 pages before I went to look at the reviews, many of which said "reads like a young adult novel though it's not labeled as such" which is absolutely true.

I feel bamboozled. Had I known this was YA sci-fi in disguise, I never would have picked it up. Oh well.

Regardless, I didn't like it. It's a weird tone and it's filled with oddly dated pop-culture references. They come from all over (Speilberg's A.I. to the Bionic Woman), but are consistently irrelevant. At one point the teen boy flirts with the teen girl by doing a Sean Connery impression...

Anyway. It's dumb. And it doesn't feel like James Patterson, something these co-written books have been pretty good at, for better or worse.

I’ve previously read James Patterson and was rather let down, if I’m honest. The story was interesting, but the writing style never gripped me. I put off reading more for a long time, but I finally decided to give another of his books a read.

The Warning had a lot of potential and could have been a gripping story. There were plenty of things that could have been amazing, things that should have left me powering through the story, but I found myself unable to connect. I did not care for the characters, the storyline was never as dramatic as it could have been, and things felt too easy.

I’m sure fans of the author will enjoy this one, but it didn’t work for me.
