I'll admit, I had some trouble at the start keeping the book and the movie separate, but then the differences became distinct enough that I could easily follow the book without the shadow of the movie in my mind's eye. Fairly typical Jack Reacher, enjoyable like a good action movie, and worth reading if you enjoy the series.

"You've got to pit your strong desire to survive against my strong desire to shoot you in the head and piss in the bullet hole."

One of things I really like about this series is that I don't have to read them in order. Once again, the mystery was really good. There were a couple of loose ends that did not seem to get wrapped up, but that's minor - the point is to be entertained, and that I was. I get puzzled sometimes by the connections I make before Reacher does, and the connections that Reacher makes that no human should be able to, but I suppose all that is needed to make the stories work. I'll be back to him again after a few other books.

Classic Jack Reacher. Not going to win any awards for its literary qualities, but always a hell of a fun ride.

Jack Reacher books are like a good CBS show. I know exactly what I’m getting. Nothing fancy, but never disappointed.
