Beastly & Bookish

What an utterly delightful book! Beastly & Bookish was my introduction to the town of Winter Bliss and it's residents - demons and humans together! Bell creates a world full of dimensional and absorbing characters, and I immediately was rooting for Rom and Noey in both their professional and personal goals. I want to be Noey when I grow up - a roller skating librarian full of heart and magic - and her childhood friend Rom is the best kind of demon. Bell seamlessly introduces readers to a world where demons and humans intermingle and I want to take a master class on her demons and their culture! I gobbled this book up in one sitting and feel rather marvelous - like I've taken a steamy bath in a hot spring and seen fireworks and had a delicious meal. I can't wait to sink my teeth into the rest of the Winter Bliss novels!

A marvelous story with an HEA and a valuable lesson on fundraising donations! Grab this book and a cuppa and bliss out.

What an absolute delight from start to finish! This was an adorable, light read with just the right mix of charm, warmth, and a dash of monster magic.

Rom, a sweet, capable, chubby-but-strong demon was just a dream. His gentleness, strength, and unabashed sweetness made every moment with him an absolute joy.

The story itself feels like a cosy monster-themed Hallmark movie, and I mean that in the best way possible! The romance is super cute, with moments that will have you grinning ear to ear. The festive, cosy atmosphere adds an extra layer of charm, making this the perfect read to curl up with during a chilly evening. Five festive, glowing stars!

No spoilers:

How does one review a masterpiece? Quite frankly how can I summarize a book I haven't stopped thinking about? These two (Rom & Noelle) meet as kids in the library and grow up together. The day they finally get the courage to share their feelings, our male lead's family moves away. They reconnect as adults and then get snowed in!

Things I loved:
-Our FMC roller-skates through the library!
-Our MMC is a bookworm
-Their love language is recommending books to each other
-Rom is so sweet and sensitive and yet is a provider and protector. I love getting a lead like this.

CW mention of a relative with dementia:
I think Catina handled this topic so well. Noelle's uncle has dementia and it was so relatable as someone who's had relatives with it, and friends' parents with it. A quote that stands out to me:

"It's simultaneously horrifying and fascinating to watch the mind of my favorite person twist itself up in a hundred new ways. and somehow, he finds the most interesting paths back home."

If you enjoy this book make sure to read the HEA novella called The Goode Life!

A cute, short and cozy read about former friends reuniting and then being snowed in and stuck in a cabin together. With one bed

Both rom and Noelle were just the sweetest and you can’t help but root for them to be happy and get together by the end of the book. I kept waiting for a third act break up and it never happened which is really refreshing to read in the romance genre.

A cozy holiday read.
Noelle is a human living in Winter Bliss, she is the town librarian that is trying to raise funds to move the town library and keep it running. Rom is a demon who was a local but his parents unexpectedly moved him and his brothers away without getting to say goodbye. Rom is back to open a branch of his family coffee shops. Only he also wants to see if he can convince Noelle to give him a chance.
This is a simple easy to read holiday rom com book between a demon and the human he has loved since childhood. I didn’t have the biggest expectations for the book and over all it landed right where I thought a cute 3⭐️ read.

Yes if:
A cozy romance featuring childhood friends second chance during the holidays.

No if:
Search and rescue leaving someone behind is a no.

4.5 stars!

Listen, my favorite monster has always been orcs. But after reading this book, I think demons are trying to knock them out of the top spot.

We have Rom, our hero coming back to his small town to open up a coffee shop. He reunites with his childhood best friend and first love Noelle, who's now the town's librarian and is struggling to keep the library doors open. Tension builds when they find out that the space Noelle has been eyeing to rent for the library has already been snatched up by Rom. Things take a spicier and swoonier turn when they both get stuck in a mountain cabin after an avalanche, give in to their feelings for each other, and *things* happen  *wink wink*.

This was SO CUTE and I cannot stress that enough!!! All I got to say about this one is that if you enjoy scarred heroes, bookish heroes (who wear glasses!!!), and business-savvy heroes, and you want to read all that in one character who happens to be a demon completely gone for his woman, go pick this up. And if you're in the mood for a cozy small-town monster romance perfect for the holidays (or any time of the year really) with no third-act breakup that will shatter (or annoy) you to pieces, this is the book for you.

I'm so excited to read more stories from this author and Winter Bliss!

I love a scarred MMC who’s self-conscious about it. Typical friends to lovers trope, with good spice. A little bit of a burn and some flashback to help give their friendship depth.

It was cute, it was cozy, it was spicy. Good monster holiday read if you’re looking for something light and easy.
