It was okay - a little cheesy but reminded me of what it was like to be young and in love for the first time. I did not like the ending though and there was a LOT of language.
Ik denk dat ik een haat liefde relatie heb met dit boek. Er zijn momenten dat ik de personages echt verschrikkelijk vind en niet kan uitstaan, maar er zijn ook momenten die ik toch wel heel leuk vind. Ik vind het een beetje raar, maar niet stom raar, gewoon raar.
this is one of the most heartbreaking stories i have ever read. it was so beautiful, and then, at the end, i cried so much — especially at that last page

Recently, I read a review from someone who said this book is racist. I read it when it came out (2013) so I don't remember.
I did remember that part about the eyeliner. I liked that part and I liked Park's characterization, especially because at that age, I'd never read something like that in a published book before.
