KATE@!!!!!
I stand by this.
I think the thing I love most about Kate is she literally appeared in my life like a lil angel out of nowhere and wrote these wonderful books that are all kinds of sweet and swoon. I just want more. I need more. WE need more. Beck and Sunny. Wow. This… I am just

I just wasn’t feeling this one. I found both leads mildly annoying and the oft-emphasised sexual, ethnic and disability diversity of the vegan cafe owner quartet felt very forced
KU Books rating system used: I'm not bothering to log anything less than two stars. Two Stars = pretty interesting characters, plot carries the characters along well. Three Stars = interesting story, dynamic characters.

I didn't enjoy this as much as I thought I would. The emotional connection between the main characters felt very superficial, based mostly on instant, uncontrollable attraction, butting heads (which didn't even make for good banter) and overbearing protectiveness. The childhood bullying Sunny went through at the hands of Beckett and her brother shouldn't have been glossed over so quickly, considering there was all sorts of unnecessary drama towards the end of the story, which didn't even tie all of the loose ends. Meh.

I enjoyed this book and can’t wait for the next Loew brother. It did seem like a really long book, which is needed for a slow burn.
I enjoy Canterbary’s New England flair, given that I’m a New England yankee for life.
The chemistry between Sunny and Beck is great. I love how Canterbary really showed some moments of healthy, grown up relationship vs a couple that doesn’t communicate and get caught in their own drama.
Would totally recommend this book. I did not receive any compensation for this review.

"I always laughed when he determined a situation was shucked."
The chokehold this series is going to have on me!!!! Kate has done a wonderful job with the world building and character building in this series already! I'm so excited for the rest of the series! I couldn't put this book down!

-My summary-
Beckett is back in Friendship, cleaning up everyone's mess after years of being determined to stay far away from his childhood town he grew up in! As teenagers, Beckett and his best friend were determined to get as far from the town of Friendship as they could.
Unfortunately, after his dad is arrest and his mom goes missing, Beckett heads back to Friendship to take care of the family business and guardianship of his 17 year old brother! Beckett is used to things being black and white and planned out, and no one ever agrues with him.
So when he finds a woman next door to his business planting plants in large planters that will block the flow of traffic to his restaurant, he's determined to set her straight and have her move them right away! But Sunny won't be convinced! She was a force of nature, after years of being treated with kid gloves due to her disability she was determined not to let anyone get in her way! Especially not Beckett Lowe, the boy who made her childhood rougher than it already was.
Beckett doesn't expect the tiny munchkin sized woman in front of him to stand up to him and put him in his place. And when he realizes that the beautiful feisty woman standing in front of him refusing to be reasoned with is his best friends little sister, he's rattled. In his head, Sunny is still a kid! Only she's not. She's a woman now! A very off-limits woman that he shouldn't find attractive. Because the last thing he needs in his life is another complication, and falling for his best friends little sister is DEFINITELY a complication.
-Things I loved-

a fun little grumpy/sunshine, age gap, best friend's little sister story set in the same town as in a jam with a bit of crime and garden gnomes.
Neither of MCs or their relationship are appealing. DNF at 50%
