CHRISTOPHER MILES! Like I say ever book in the Miles High Club series, every time I meet a new brother, he’s my favorite! Christopher’s character development was amazinggggg! He went from an entitled, spoiled, playboy to a respectable family man. The transition was so smooth, you couldn’t help fall in love with him. This book had me rolling with laughter the whole way through it! Poor guy cannot catch a break! The relationship between Christopher and Hayden was full of hilarious banter, resistance, truth bombs, true friendship, TENSION

I've enjoyed all of these books and I was looking forward to finishing this one and reading the miles ever after.

But any author that will refer to women as cows is not for me. Honestly I was shocked and read the line twice before I returned the book to Kindle unlimited, disgusted.

My lord.. the Drama in this one. I couldn't put it down. Finished it in a day.

I absolutely adore all of the Miles brothers, though they are absolute idiots at times!

When I started this book, I was totally against Christopher. You know totally spoiled rich playboy that had no real depth to him at all. But boy oh boy @tlswanauthor has a way with words and really knows how to keep me invested in a book. I swear I’ve read all four of these books in a day. They are addicting!

Hayden and Christopher are total opposites, but it totally works for them. They really had me in an a motion so rollercoaster at the end. I just didn’t know how they were going to overcome their biggest obstacle. But I’m so glad they did.

Also as much as I love Hayden and Christopher, I must say Eddie absolutely stole my heart and I would die for that kid. If you know, you know.

oh so amazing

I love this book so much. Hell I love this entire series so much. Everything about Christo and Hazy was raw and real and new and scary and amazing. I loved the fact that each book had its own outside factor, and the one in this one was perfect the ending was a bit rushed, but it was everything you wanted at the same time. This author can do no wrong!!

I have to say this book kept me laughing. I loved Christopher in the other books so I was so excited to see he would have his own book. I’ll be honest though It wasn’t how I thought his story would go but as always TL swan surprises us and kills it once again. My favorite part had to be his brothers giving him a hard time. Ha their brother banter in all the books were so entertaining. Hayden and him together I felt like balanced each other out as he was a control freak and she tried to be but at the same time she was a pushover. I love this entire series so I definitely recommends.

YES:
- the Miles family moments. I honestly just love seeing Claire & Tristan & the family.
- some of the sex scenes
- the ending

NO:
- the misogyny that flourishes in this book. It’s very interesting how often we see the women being dragged while Christopher “contemplates”. Even Hayden often shamed the women he has had sex with before for “not being with him for the right reasons” when Christopher, himself, has mentioned that he doesn’t do relationships… only sex. Seems like the women were always the ones under fire for also getting pleasure out of their encounters with Chris. Instead of just acknowledging that in purely transactional relationships, both sides are giving and receiving something & content with that. Hayden also shames Chris at one point but somehow they fall in love despite these extreme differences in views on life.
- Hayden thinking it’s cute to “patiently” be yelled at because she’s “the adult” in the relationship at that time.
- the ENTIRE London part. When Hayden is basically shamed for being plucked out of her comfort zone (the country) and put in a city where she knows no one except the person who can’t spend any time with her, is introduced to not a single activity to occupy her time, and is told that she’s in the wrong for not trying hard enough…

All in all, I was looking forward to Chris bc he seemed so funny and hot in the preceding books… but whew. I was disappointed, for sure. There were some positives but I cringed a lot more than I smiled.

Edit:
Another thing is that the author needs to map her timeline out a little better bc this is the second book after Takeover and the kids are the same age… how is Patrick appearing 10 when he was nine years old 4 or 5 years ago?? Not to mention, in Casanova, it had to have been about 2.5-3 years since Takeover (the child she was pregnant with is two years old already) but somehow, Fletcher is still a teenager (when he was 17/18 in the previous book). A nitpicky thing but it kind of ruined the immersion for me to wonder why the kids weren’t growing up…

So here is the deal… I almost DNFd this book a couple of times. Christopher is over-the-top ridiculous and it’s not cute! Not at all. But then I get to parts and I just can’t explain how much I love them. This was an audio read for me, so maybe it’s because of CJ Bloom being amazing. I don’t know. But the moment I finished I started listening to it AGAIN! I am now finished for the second time! So half the book is 2.5stars, but then others are 5+. So I’m going to give it a 4. The fact that I had to read it back to back should have some heavy weight. But I can’t justify a 5 if I seriously contemplated DNFing.

The setting was what did it for me! Backpacking around Europe and hostels and the collective group of friends. All their adventures were so fun! But THEN… the friendship that bloomed between Christopher and Hayden was so sweet and it just made my heart melt! We had a semi-one bed troupe that kept on giving and grumpy/sunshine that was almost grumpy/grumpy. The parts that weren’t showcasing Christopher’s cringy entitlement were some of my favorites.

So, yeah… even though I hated half the book, I think I’ll reread it over and over waiting for those moments that make me feel so ooey-gooey good.
