The Do-Over

THIS IS MY FAVORITE OF THE SERIES.

I believe whole heartedly that traveling gives you a new outlook on the world & yourself… and for TL Swan to include this perspective in her book makes me so damn happy.

Christopher becomes a better person through travel and meeting new people. He learns how to love and that’s is the beauty of this book. Money can’t buy everything.

I laughed, I cried, I felt love through the pages…

Eddie has my entire heart. Omg I loved that kid so much.

Am I the only one who was like “huh?” on this one? This book could have ended 20 chapters earlier. It went on and on. I got the ICK from their relationship with Eddie. How do you tell a 14 year old who’s been on the streets half his life that he cannot swear. It was just weird…And then the 26 year old now “mothering” him? It was weird. I actually had to stop because I was like, “wtf.”

Ugly crying. It's fine.

3.5⭐️

Oof

I may be completely unreliable when it comes to this review. To start, I listened to the audible versus reading it like I prefer but it was free with KU so why not! I could listen and fold the never-ending laundry at the same time.

but

The voices... I... it didn't match. Cristo sounded aged. I'm sorry. It just wasn't working for me. But even with that being said, this one just didn't hit like the others did. The premises was good. Interesting. But it kind of dragged, but maybe it was the voice actor? You see what I mean? Maybe my review would be different had I read it versus listen.

My all time favorite for this series remains as The Takeover. Tristan Miles. That is all.

The Do-Over

Excuse me while I ugly cry! This book is so heartwarming and not like the other Miles books at all! Christopher definitely had the most character development and growth and I loved reading it! Spice

Thank you to Amazon Publishing UK for the advanced reading copy via Netgalley, the receipt of which did not impact my review.

The Do-Over by T.L. Swan focuses on Christopher Miles, the youngest brother and arguably the most spoiled/entitled. After a little tantrum, he goes backpacking through Europe for twelve months with a small account balance (for him) to get started and is determined to keep his identity a secret. At the first hostel in Spain, he meets a group of core friends that define his experiences for the year - most notably, Hayden Whitmore. Hayden is a small-town girl who grew up on a cattle farm in the Finger Lakes and has a degree in animal husbandry, with plans to take over the family business after her father retires. Their real lives couldn't be farther from each other - and there are understandable conflicts and concerns when the truth comes out and real life gets in the way.

I enjoyed this book and found it entertaining, though some references and words used toward women were a little outdated. The chapters featuring the relationships between the brothers were very fun and sweet. And now to go back and read the first three books in the series!

I enjoyed this book, it kept my attention throughout the entire book, and had just the right amount of spice
