The Do-Over

Oh Christopher. You privileged, spoiled brat. At the beginning I wasn’t sure I was going to love him. He was just so spoiled and out of touch with reality. I did enjoy how he was denied multiple times and friend zoned a lot while knocked off his privilege pedestal and on his butt multiple times throughout the story. I loved his relationship with Eddie. There were a few times in the story I was cry laughing. The sleeping bag, the taxi driver scene, the yacht. too many to put in a review really. Christopher is my least favorite Miles, but I still love him and the series.

Stars: 4
POV: dual
HEA?: yes
Cheating: I would say no but almost
Cliffhanger?: no
Tropes: billionaire, enemies to friends to lovers, friend zone

I love the relationship between both Christopher, Hayden and Eddie but sadly the rest of the book overall did not live up to the expectation.

3/5 stars.

Happily Ever After

Arguably one of the most touching endings of the series!
Still has the character growth and spice, but this one gives you the warm fuzzies too.

3.5 stars and only because I've loved most of TL's other books

I'm...disappointed. I've loved this series. The last 3 books were ridiculously amazing, but this one was lackluster at best.

That was entirely Christopher's character's doing. Hayden was great. Such a positive female lead. But Christopher...well he was difficult to like. Violent, yelly, arrogant (not in a good way), ignorant, and self-centered. I enjoy it when characters have flaws, but usually they grow from them. Here, he didn't.

Hayden gave and gave (way too much in my opinion, but that's beside the point), yet he never sacrificed anything for her. And when he did, it was for a secondary character that I never really got attached to. Eddie's character kind of felt forced down my throat in a 'you have to like him because he's important to the story' kind of way.

We also didn't get to see the change in Christopher that results in the last 20 pages, so those kind of seemed to come out of nowhere.

TL normally writes such riveting and dramatic contemporary romance that I expected so much more. Sadly, I'm not sure I'll read the upcoming novel epilogue to this series. To be seen... I'll probably re-read the other 3 and reassess.

Christopher is a spoilt brat, honestly which 31 year old acts like this? He’s an idiot thought the story - I knew he would be but I was still disappointed in him every time! THAT BEING SAID - I loved it. He was clueless the whole time about the fact he was in love with Hayden. Even though he had his bad moments, he does turn out to be adorable. Tristan is still my favourite Miles brother, but Clueless Christoper isn’t far behind him. I really enjoyed Hayden as a character; she was extremely relatable and though I have read reviews saying she’s a wet blanket, I have to disagree. I doubt that I would have grown to like Christopher as much had I not been such a big fan of Hayden from the start.

Thank you to NetGalley for this ARC. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

This is the last book in the Miles High series and it follows youngest brother Christopher. Now Christopher is an extremely unlikeable character in the beginning. He's rich, sleeps with anyone he can, spoilt, always gets what he wants and overall just a brat. By the end of the book though you come to be a bit fond of him. I really enjoyed the backpacking story that unfolds here and I liked seeing Christopher discover things about himself he didn't know before. The romance was ok, it wasn't anything to really shout about. Christopher and Hayden decide to be just friends and spend a bit of the book not acting on their feelings until finally they do and then, like with the other Miles High books, things move very quickly. So quickly that it's not realistic. I did not like how Christopher went back on what he said to Hayden's dad though. I did enjoy seeing Christopher's relationship with Eddie develop. I think that was one of my favourite parts of this book.

I do think this was longer than it needed to be but overall I liked it.

They say opposites attract!
Hayden has had her heart broken and is waiting for her fairytale.
Christopher has never let his guard down for a relationship and is happily living in bachelor land.
They both take a year out to go travelling and meet in a hostel in Barcelona. There is an instant attraction but they are not what the other thinks they need or want so they settle on friendship.

The book opens with some great banter between the Miles brothers. At the hostel Hayden and Christopher team up with four other travellers and make a special friend Eddie, a young boy who works behind there. The six travellers even bump into the Mr’s Masters, Spencer and Garcia.

I laughed so much reading this book, plenty of brilliant one liners and real laugh out loud moments. Christopher didn’t make a HEA easy but in the end he did good.

I would highly recommend this book as I would the rest of the series.

Some of my fav scenes - hidden white dress, yacht, Binky Bear

3.5 stars.

I really enjoyed the traveling and finding himself theme. I love a book that are from 2 different worlds, farm girl /city boy.

But him getting mad that she was mad he lied for a year and that she was depressed in London irritated me. It bugged me he wouldn’t even choose a country house outside of London but expected her to move across the world and change. I know in the end he changed, but damn.

DNF
had high hopes for Christopher as I liked him in the other books but this was one a disappointment
One star for Tristan cameo
