Mostly spice rather than plot, but the men were quite sweet and I liked to dynamic between all of them, especially at the end. Nice to see a positive portrayal of sex work and female sexuality as well.

So I foolishly started reading this book in the car on my way to a children's birthday party. Mistakes were made, but starting this book was not one of them! A friend warned me it was more erotica than romance, and she was right, but then all of a sudden my brain thought maybe halfway through, "Wait...when did all this romance and plot start?" There was mystery, intrigue, and character development with the sex scenes. I'm not knocking it, and I actually enjoyed that things got fleshed out a bit more. Was it still a lot of sex? Absolutely, and I'm thrilled for Esther and her gentlemen. Am I excited for the next book next year, too? You bet. Was there probably a lot less substantial plot than some other books I've read? Yeah, and that's OK too. This book was a great companion on some recent evenings of insomnia. Not too heavy, a little bit (OK, A lot a bit) of spice, and a dynamic cast of characters to enjoy. What more could a woman want?

This book was DELIGHTFUL. Absolutely filled to the brim with spice while still having solid plot and character exploration. I don’t know if I would say there’s a ton of deep character growth, but watching Esther and her monsters explore how they work individually and together was definitely intriguing.  Moon’s writing was simple but captivating, and I very easily got sucked in to the interesting world of Rooksgrave.
More than anything else, Esther’s unabashed love of her own sexuality and pure enjoyment in others was just so fun and refreshing. Would absolutely recommend, and will definitely be reading more by Moon.

I want to thank my friend Krysten, @ladyofbookshire, for recommending this spicy, amazing masterpiece ❤️ I am forever in your debt

💀

CW: Super explicit, sometimes dark/depraved sexual content, mention of sexual assault, brief violence.

Think League of Extraordinary Gentleman, then make it reverse harem, then make it the spiciest book you’ve ever read. That’s what this is. PHENOMENAL.

The pacing is steady and intriguing. The plot, while focusing heavily on the relationship between Esther and her men, is still riveting and the conflict is intriguing.

This can be read as a stand-alone I suppose, but I’m super interested to see any future books in this world!
