A Lady of Rooksgrave Manor by Kathryn Moon

Esther's story is one that probably can't really be told anywhere but in an erotica novel: a nymphomaniac who's spent her whole life getting looked down on. Until now. It was a bit difficult to relate to her, but she "acted her age", if you will.

It's definitely an erotica first with the romance taking a firm back seat. They're both solidly present, though. The plot pacing was off a bit (it doesn't really present in full force until halfway through the book), but this isn't a book to read for its plot.

Almost DNFd so many times, but curiousity got me to finish it. I'm sad I didn't like this more. This seemed like it would be right up my alley (why choose, monster men, gothic setting, etc.) Unfortunately, I didnt love the writing style, felt the pacing was off and jumpy, and the "plot" (the whole Birsha thing...and Mary?? What was the point of her? ) didn't interest me...

I also felt NOTHING for most of the characters. The FMC had one character trait : 'nymphomaniac' and no other personality. I also didn't care at all for Amon, Auguste, or Jonathan. They were all so one dimensional and boring. Mr. Tanner, Ezra & Booker were probably the only reason I kept reading. Even then, it ended so abruptly and left me with so many questions and loose ends... and I'm mad I didn't realize this was not is stand alone. Probably will never get to the other books so I guess my questions will remain unanswered.

Whew! You will need a cold shower after this one! Check out trigger warnings on the author's website cause there are a few things that can be triggering. The plot felt like it was non-existent until late in the book as you are moved from one spicy scene to the next. However, I love the idea of a young girl in love with physical pleasure and the "monsters" who want that pleasure too but maybe more. Although the spicy scenes can be intense, there is also a comfortable feeling to the events which takes out the "taboo" elements allowing for safe exploration. Love the male characters. My favorites were Ezra and Auguste (I love them!). Looking forward to the sequel!

This had some really hot scenes but overall did not do it for me. Probably a very good book if you like RHs and Monsters, I’m just too dumb to remember too many names at once. Lots of great smut, some plot,  and an interesting premise, just not for me.

It was a really good book until the random plot thrown in the last 100 pages. I literally don’t give a fuck LMAO. (by the way, Auguste and Jonathan were definitely my favorites)
