This book is well written, but I found the plot to be plodding and filled with the minutia of a young girls life to the point that I just wasn't that interested. I'll probably just watch the movie some day.

This is a strong story that captures the point in time in which it takes place in American history. It is a good audiobook as well.

An amazing classic!! One of my favs

Best classic I've read so far (January 2018).

I have been wanting to read it, and finally got to do so when I had an assignment from school.

Strongest aspects: Characters and their meanings > Story and representation of social issues

Weakest aspect: The build-up. The main synopsis doesn't start until the middle of the book. It takes time to get into, but once you're in, it's gonna end before you know it.
