Fun, Twisty Ride
I got this book on sale, and just thought the premise seemed interesting. It definitely exceeded my expectations! This was a fun, twisty ride for sure.
Gwen, having recently gotten out of a long term relationship, has been using a dating app to meet new people. Unfortunately, her dates have all ended up as duds, until her friend swipes right on Parker - a guy who seems just like her type. After chatting for a bit, she asks to meet up - only to be met with a link to an article citing a recent murder in the area. The weird thing? Gwen went on a date with the victim. Before she knows it, Gwen finds herself the suspect the investigation. Will she figure out who's trying to frame her before its too late, or will she become a victim herself?
I'll be honest - I guessed the twist pretty early on. Even so, there was so many possibilities that the book had me second guessing myself, wondering if I had the right guess. It was still a great twist, and overall was a fun read!

I read this book via Pigeonhole. It's a light-hearted murder mystery based around a 29 year old, newly-single woman called Gwen. Having recently ended a long-term relationship, she has started dabbling in online dating via an app called Connector (I'm guessing this is meant to be like Tinder).
When men that Gwen has dated start turning up dead, all eyes are on her as the link between them all. Obviously that would be too, well, obvious, so Gwen decides to start investigating things herself. Very ill-advised, but if things were sensible we'd never have any novels and TV shows!
I found Gwen to be a likeable character, even if she made stupid, stupid decisions! The plot was interesting and kept me guessing, and I like the dashes of humour mixed in. If you like TV shows like Death in Paradise or books like The Thursday Murder Club, and (my opinion based on comments from fellow Pigeons, are under 45 years old) then this will be one for you!

I can't tell you how quickly I devoured this book. The only thing that makes me sad is that this is a debut novel and I have nothing more to read by this author currently.
The story revolves about a FMC who's had shitty dates with even shittier men when all of a sudden they start showing up dead in the order that she's dated them.
It kept me interested all the way through, I lost count of how many times I thought I knew who was the killer was to have my mind changed in the next chapter. Very good plot twists and very well written.
Even though it's a crime/murder novel it keeps levity throughout which is a nice change from the other books of this genre.
I would happy recommend this book to anyone! And I'm so looking forward to see what L.M.Chilton writes next ☺️

This was a really enjoyable and easy read but there were a lot of plot holes and a predictable big twist. I found the commentary on online dating/first dates amusing which made up for the MC being pretty annoying.
