Of all the Puffin In Bloom series, which includes Little Women and Anne of Green Gables, this may be my favourite or at least a close competitor to Little Women. As with many of the world’s greatest books, its simplicity and happy ending may seem silly but it’s so much more than an escapist story. It’s about the goodness that manifests in the world when we appreciate nature and each other and that only really comes from living simply and not wanting much. An absolute joy that I hope more people read and learn from.
