Okay hear me out, I read this several times as a kid, and loved it. I also read the children’s version not the actual book. I just read the actual book for the first time and it was okay, I definitely prefer the kid version.
Such a heart warming book! I read this as a child and wanted to return to it. Such a beautiful novel!
When I picked up this book I thought I might be bored a little because I already knew Heidi's story. I was so wrong! This was so entertaining I'm actually tempted to re-read it.
It's a book filled with happinness and innocence, and I was smiling at almost every page. Heidi's homesickness was really sad though (the good kind of sad), and really relatable for me. I also left my town near the mountains to live in a city at a young age; I wish I had found "Heidi" when I was a homesick little girl :'0.
I think "Heidi" has actually become my favorite children's book!

I really like this story, I have seen the adaptations since I was a very young child and really enjoyed them. This said I read an adaptation “for very young readers” (by mistake) and that really affected the reading experience because it was very tell-y and not show-y. I have to read the original, but even with the adaptation I really enjoyed the story
