I’m a little appalled I have no recollection of reading this growing up. My parents certainly had a copy, and I’ve seen several movie/TV adaptations (that vary widely from the book, but don’t they all?). So, I’m glad I finally made the effort to read this. Truly a delightful read that captures the beauty of the Swiss Alps; the innocence of children; and spiritual truths and talk of God whose presence very pleasantly surprised me. Fantastic book.

Ah I really enjoyed reading this book. So many memories and such a cute, heart-warming story.

This book is more religious then I though was possible. Enjoyed reading this book.

A wonderful, warm read. One that I ideally should have absorbed when I was little. You can’t go wrong with reading about a small girl finding her way in life and moving about. Exploration of friendship and family. It’ll feel a tad old fashioned but then again it was written quite some time ago. Most people probably don’t mind that sort of thing though. It’s frozen in time to be read again and again.

Cute and sweet, a tad preachy and wrapped up just a little too nicely. LOVE the mountain imagery though.
