I liked this book as a whole but definitely have some notes. I like that Dianna is tall, it is known well that a lot of the FMC in all fiction books are normally small in some way or another. As a tall woman it was nice to imagine a tall powerful woman (with smaller boobs as well !). My favourite aspect of Dianna's character is that she is a 'bad guy' and is not trying to defend it or act like she is not - whilst it is driven by protecting her sister - a lot of fantasies try to excuse characters wrongdoings, like it is unrealistic to be flawed. The narrative that characters are either all good, or all bad is so childish. The dialogue is rather cringe, as expected but I could easily look past that. I really enjoyed the slow burn and think the dynamic between Samkiel and Dianna is really strong, without one person overpowering the other. Their first meeting was next level ! Sometimes I reread it because I feel like I didn't fully appreciate it when I first read it. Sue me I kind of like Kaden, I know it's so cliche to like the 'villian' but he has layers (again not all good or all bad) Would definitely recommend, personally I have been needing a good romantasy for a while and this hit the spot.

I do understand when reading a fantasy book there is going to be a lot of world building involved.. BUT.. when the first half of the book is mostly that it gets quite boring to read. I prefer it to be scattered throughout the story instead.

It took me a minute to get into this one, the writing felt a bit basic in the beginning, but the story really drew me in.
