I hate every character in this book. Every single one of them. There is not a redeeming character in this whole book and the story doesn't have a big enough pay out to justify any of them. Tie in all the horribly racist, fatphobic, and homophobic things in this book and it's a dumpster fire. I finished it to see if there was a redemption. No. There wasn't.

engrossing, but not really appealing. major TW for disordered eating, yikes.

Huh. I kind of hated this book, but I couldn't stop reading it. What's the deal with that?

I liked this book WAY more than I thought I would! It's pretty tedious for the first third of it- the main character annoyed me so much that I thought nothing would redeem her. However, a lot was revealed throughout the book that made me feel differently. I hate to use the word "juicy" to describe the twists and turns in this book, because the subject matter here is very serious, dark, and scary. I can't lie, though- once I really got into it, it was a page turner. Thought-provoking and well written..I would love to read more by this author!

I feel kinda bad that I hated this so much since Jessica Knoll poured much of her own story into this book. But man was it not good. I picked it up because I saw the movie trailer and it seemed interesting. The writing was really flat, I really disliked the main character, the overemphasis on sex was off putting, it was overdramatic, the problematic aspects of characters were never addressed... The list could go on. Almost a DNF but it was short enough to justify finishing.

Great character development!!! Only thing wrong is it's neat little wrap up (of course).

Meh. I listened to this on Audible, and the narrator probably had something to do with me not liking this book much. Her voice was annoying, so the book was too.

Yikes. Interesting what she did with the back story but wow, I could not make myself care about Ani. What a truly wretched person. And the action moved so slooowly. Don't always believe the hype about a new book. Again, yikes.

This book starts slow but gets better I’ve the course of the novel. Characters that initially seemed shallow are actually really dynamic figures whose past slowly gets spelled out for the reader. Would recommend.
