I didn’t expect the twist in this book & it was a lot darker than I expected. Ani is complicated & I have empathy for her. I will say that the fatphobia in this book is RAGING & there are so many mentions of not eating & weight & being thin that I found it off putting. I feel conflicted about this book because I think it dealt with some challenging topics well but ooof.
A good read. A few threads do not satisfy and the only likeable character is a stereotype of a favorite teacher.
I have been reading this book for MONTHS. Took me forever to get through it because it infuriated me so much. I did not expect the twist so for that i’ll give it 3 stars. Fuck Ani’s parents. Fuck Dean. Fuck Luke. Fuck almost every single character in this book.
Great read! The descriptive writing put you at Bradley and you felt the angst and anger of the characters. I would describe this book as “unputdownable” - the only reason it took me so long to finish is that I got the flu halfway through reading it! I’d definitely read another book from this author again.

i think this book suffers from the marketing presenting some Big Twist™ that the reader is just waiting to drop in the middle of the story. in reality it’s a series of reveals, each more important than the last, that don’t so much as shock the reader but help to paint a broader picture of just who TifAni FaNelli is. there are a couple things that fell short for me, things i thought might be plot threads but didn’t actually end up resulting in anything, but overall i thought this was a really great introspection on trauma and truth and how the two kiss—and how they don’t.

I can't write anything. I don't want to even hint at what this is REALLY about. It was good. It started out like a book that was NOT in my "wheelhouse" and then after 200 pages or 11 chapters - KA-BLAM. It even ends right.

I enjoyed the book, however I really disliked the main character.
This book is decent til you get to the end and have no clue what the hell just happened. (If you do not believe me, check the questions section of the reviews for this book).
The book is odd to begin with then that weird-ass ending just seals the deal of "what the hell did I just read?" If any of you make it through it and can explain it to me, please do.

Girl who wants it all has tragic backstory paired with a whiney inner monologue and confusing storyline.
I wanted to read this prior to seeing the new movie but I DNF'd within the first 80 pages. The writing felt all over the place and it was difficult to follow each part of the story while reading about how manipulative the main character is.
