I know the narrator was supposed to be unlikable, but she was far too insufferable for my taste, and I didn’t stick around long enough to find out why she was the way she was. DNF.
stop giving villains redemption arcs! let them be evil!

The story is written so that the main character seems unlikable, but as the story unfolds, and the history is revealed, the main character becomes more understandable and you are rooting for her ultimately. A story of trauma, written in a way that leaves the reader open to the possibility of healing, and leaves you optimistic for the main character’s future.
Wow so I don't see how so many people could rate this book so low. I thought it was FANTASTIC! I was intrigued by Ani from the very first chapter and once all her demons were brought to the light, it was hard for me to ever stop reading!
