I never DNF but I almost did with this one because it was so fucking depressing at the beginning.
Later on I did enjoy the protagonist's stream of thought and her choices felt valid.
Predictable plot though. You know what's going to happen but you can still enjoy the journey.

Not exactly how I predicted it would go, but makes sense given the setting and writing style.
I really enjoy a book that stays in the same location but uses flashbacks and character dialogue to keep the plot fresh. Plus I found this book more intriguing in finding out more about the characters which I enjoyed. Even if some of them are a little immature or insensitive.
A tad on the slow side of monologging, but was still insightful nonetheless.
Really liked the interactions between all the characters and felt that as extravagant as the setting was, the story still felt realistic.

A beautiful exploration of love, grief, and female friendship. Both heartbreaking and irrevelantly funny.
The only thing that rubbed me the wrong way was the use of the COVID lockdown as a plot point. It felt a little too soon, a little too gimmicky.

I really enjoyed this! The author put so many dark, emotional thoughts and moments into writing, and there is something so comforting about reading it. Because chances are, you’ve had some of the same thoughts, or you’ve worried the same things about your future. The takeaway from this novel is you can always make a fresh start. One ending really is another beginning!
