Coming Up Roses is a sweet, swoony, summery bouquet of brilliant prose, decadent imagery, and adorable characters who sometimes take their clothes off. (Hellooooo, Luke.

I've been meaning to try this series for a while and the first book was really fun! A great Pride & Prejudice reimagining set in modern day, revolving around a family flower shop. This book was a steamy, enemies to lovers, life after divorce, dual POV romance. I really enjoyed that the plot revolved around saving the family business and was full of big-hearted grown siblings and their mother who wants to match them all up. Good on audio and I can't wait to read the next two books in the series!

This was a really good read! The writing flowed well, and I thought Luke and Tess were good together. It took me a while to warm up to Tess though. I felt like she was holding on to something, that in the grand scheme of things, wasn't that significant. I get it, I would be pissed if someone forgot me too, but it was 10 years ago. It took her longer than I would have liked to let that go. Luke was a great guy in pretty much everything, except when it came to his ex. The manipulation was ridiculous, and I was happy when he was called on it. Wendy was her own responsibility. The ending was SUPER sweet, and I loved that these two got their HEA. I can't WAIT to read about the rest of this family!
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book.

Oh Luke, you were so precious (sometimes stupid but I forgive you!) and commanded the room around you in a way that made me smile. I have to agree with some reviews, you are book boyfriend material.

Tess is working at a flower shop - but not just any kind. She put her work on a high standard at Longbourne Flower Shop and it definitely didn't go unnoticed, but wasn't enough. When the family-owned shop gets into trouble, everybody tries to help out- including her old crush, whom she haven't seen in a while. So naturally, to save her heart she lets herself to achieve anything in order to keep her sanity and heart unshattered. She and Luke Bennet (with his easygoing demeanor and handsome self) kind of get into an enemies territory. But of course, in the end, love conquers it all...

The book was an Austen retelling, in the series you have a chance to meet the other characters based on Austen's work. It was refreshing, altough I struggled with Luke's past relationship trope and the drama it ensured. The romance was adoring, sometimes outright sexy and the keeping it hush-hush part caused at times hilarity.

I adored Tess and her father's relationship, the way they cared so much about one other and the resolve the book's story brought to them.

Overall I gave the book around 3 and a half stars.

Very cute and feel-good book
I don’t think I liked Luke much and I can’t say that their love is true love of something
He starts the book by fucking mrs Robinson and then a few pages later falls in love

Coming Up Roses is a super cute romance, following Tess and Luke as they try to rebrand Luke's family's flower shop.

Luke returns home from LA after a messy marriage and wants to start afresh while helping his family. Not only is Luke pulled into the mix of saving the flower shop but so are all the Bennet siblings, all five of them. It is pure chaos. Even grown adults still act like children when they're back home and it just makes the book that much funnier.

Tess doesn't know if she can trust Luke with even delivering flowers since he's never held onto a job longer than 6 months and constantly jumps around, but she can't help the fact that he was her childhood crush. I love how Tess and Luke first get introduced, you dive straight into the story - which I appreciate when it comes to a book like this and their romance made me smile throughout. All the characters are entertaining and I cannot wait to see what happens with the other Bennet siblings.

There was just something missing that I cant put my finger on but I needed something else to happen because I kept zoning out of the story. Not because it was horrible but because it was predictable. I really enjoyed the characters and the story but I could have done with more.
