A classic in behavioral economics, and deservedly so. Interesting but probably more so when the first edition came out fourteen years ago. Now many of the concepts have been explored in other books and publications so nothing feels new anymore. And this is an updated edition but I’m afraid the authors have updated with references to certain websites and covid that will make this version seem dated very quickly, too. Still the positive, practical applications of nudge itself are timeless.

Richard Thaler is a genius (though I suppose you need quite a few brain cells to win a Nobel Prize). Nudge is, I think, the paragon of his written work in the field of behavioral economics. Simultaneously research-laden and accessible to the uninitiated, this book offers endless insight into human behavior and practical applications of his research. It is one of the few books that I am open to re-reading multiple times -- it is actually quite possibly one of the best books I have ever read.

Interesting, albeit one-time, read; I liked the insight into choice architecture and the ideas were refreshing. I didn't agree with every application, but the principles were good. It made me feel more confident with judging proposed policies, too -- which is something I've always been intimidated by.

For all the fuss about this book, I found it pretty dull and I skimmed a lot of it.
