While these books are well written, it sometimes feels overly detailed, making the pacing quite slow. I'm interested enough to read the next book in the series, but I have to motivate myself to read the next one.
From chapter to chapter I enjoyed this book. It starts at a break neck pace and stays there. Almost to a fault. I kept thinking I just had to be close to the ending only to find out I still had 2/3 of the book left and that feeling never really left.
Loses a full star for the completely random and completely unnecessary rape. It literally added nothing to the book and it's forgotten as abruptly as it appeared. It's only a couple pages, which only reinforces my belief it should've been cut entirely.

Long winding with multiple shifts un narratives. A simple premise twisting into full out potential catastrophe. Enjoyable yes but supreme eh

DNF. So disappointed. The bourne identity was great. The sequel is not. It starts off with a decent premise. A copy cat bourne using his legendary status killing high profile government officials in china. First 200 pages are good. Got me interested. Then it becomes a bloated mess. Marie's character is ruined and her chapters are waste of time that have barely any impact on the main plot. She fakes illness and convinces a top government doctor she is dying. That was a stretch, then she evades capture several times in the streets through farcical scenes. She almost gets raped again which was so unnecessary. So much is repeated from the first book. Lots of boring dialogue. Smart characters become stupid. In one scene bourne beats up an old man that he thought was the assassin in a hotel room. Then goes barging into other rooms pretending to be drunk where some people getting high tell him to stop drinking and get high instead. WTF! Half decent story ruined. Could have chopped 300 plus pages out of this story and it would have been so much better. I knew that events in the first book would not be concluded until the third book but basically the sequel is filler. Now I dont care and probably wont read the third.
The Bourne Supremacy I didn't enjoy this book nearly as much as I enjoyed the previous. A large part of what ruined my enjoyment was the premise, I didn't buy it. Apparently Jason Bourne was the only one able to replace the other Jason Bourne and kill Sheng. Why? Do they not have other agents available? Why would you send an agent into the field with amnesia, who is known to have debilitating flashbacks? He didn't do anything that another competent agent couldn't have done. I will say despite the flimsy excuse to bring Jason Bourne back into the field, I did enjoy the bits where he walks someone through a scenario. As the fake Jason Bourne put it, he's a technician. I don't think I'll enjoy the following books as much as I did the first, something tells me there will be the same flimsy excuse to bring Jason Bourne back, but I'll still read them for those brief sections that I do enjoy.
