Rough read initially, because the baby talk was so unbearable, but the story really is very cute and I enjoyed the characters... Got more used to the baby talk at the end, but by then it was much less frequent anyway. Will possibly read v. 2 in the future.
I was going to give this 2 stars because it left me fairly indifferent, but I settled on 2.5 stars because even though it wasn't my thing, it isn't actually bad.
A cutesy, episodic story about a kitten who gets lost outside and is taken in by a family living in an apartment building with a strict 'no pets' rule. More a chain of vignettes than a continuous story, as Chi and family adapt to each other with typical kitten 'adventures' such as litter-training, discovering bouncy-balls, etc. Simple images, mild humor, and not a lot of text.
My only real gripe is that I found Chi's baby-talk awkward and unnecessary ('shtay', 'fwightening', etc). That might (*might*) work when spoken aloud, but it's more awkward than cute when written down.

As far as adorable manga involving kittens go, this is top notch. A great pick for younger readers that are interested in reading more comics and graphic novels. Recommended for fans of Babymouse and Tiny Titans.
If you have ever had a cat, this is the comic for you. Really well done.
All I wanted was something super cute. And this only sort-of delivered. The artwork is bright and stylish and the panels are easy to follow, and Chi the kitten behaves like a real one would (trust me, I grew up with cats, lots of cats). I was impressed with Konami's ability to convey kittenhood with such simple artwork.
However. Chi the kitten narrates in cutesy-wutsey baby tawk. Just wike dis. Oh, it is so adowable. Wight? Isn't dis adowable?
No, no it isn't. And that is why this has been upgraded (or downgraded?) from super cute to nauseatingly cute. Also, there is no plot, but I didn't pick this up for a plot -- I just wanted to look at Chi and go "awwwwww". Even that simple joy was taken from me.
If you pick this book up, just look at the pictures. Put your finger over any text bubbles you may see, even the ones from the humans. This should've been a wordless book, anyway, and you'll be happier. I will do this with successive volumes in this long series.

Charming children’s book from Japan, the first of a series. The kitten Chi has all sorts of adventures, starting out when she gets lost and is taken in by a kindhearted family. She’s cute and wild and kittenish.
Graphic: Abandonment
This book is dangerous. It's so cute I thought I'd die. The adventures of the cutest little kitten EVER. If this doesn't make you smile, I guess nothing will - or you don't like cats. Seriously, I ended up running around our store showing this book to all my co-workers because IT'S SO FRICKIN' CUTE.
Wow this was an incredibly pure and sweet recommendation from a challenging 10th graders. Not sure if I’ll read more, but I don’t know if manga is generally this wholesome.
