I wasn't ready for how that all turned out.  Not a bad book,  I wanted a different ending.

The trade-off between depth and the number of characters doesn't have to happen. But in this book, it did.

It had too many characters. If the book hadn't included a list of them all in the beginning, then I would have had no chance of keeping th all straight.

I thought the culprit was obvious.
the parents of the dead girl kidnapped the kids with the intent to kill them. The dead girl was abandoned by the friends after a prank, but the professor who she had an affair with actually caused her death. The professor killed the poor kid friend, i dont remember his name.

The FBI agent and her husband were my favs and I plan on picking up the other book(s) with her as the lead.

Kind of a bummer, as I’ve enjoyed previous Finlay titles. This one felt rushed and too cliched for me.

Disclosure: I received an ARC of this novel from Netgalley, however all opinions are my own.

Leave it to Alex Finlay to knock it out of the park!

All of Finlay's books are stand-alones, however I was elated to find out that Sarah Keller is back, as she's been in a couple of his other books and I absolutely love her character. Along with her is her amazing husband, Bob, and their TWINS! Yes!

This book is absolutely Alex Finlay - multiple POVs, a mystery that seems unsolvable., and an FBI agent that just won't quit. I loved the idea of a mystery taking place on Parents Weekend at a college, and I love the fact that we had all these families that came together and they ALL have secrets.

The twists and turns of this book made it totally un-put-downable and I managed to finish it in a day because I had to know what was going on. I kept thinking I maybe knew what was going on, Finlay blew that out of the water. I loved that I really didn't totally understand until the very end, which was explosive.

This book? Is a great way to end the summer.

I didnt enjoy Parents Weekend as much as Night Shift.

Although I quite like the character of Agent Keller and enjoyed her perspective in the book, I just didnt find this one as tense or engaging.

I enjoyed it but didnt have that desperate need to keep picking it up to find out what happened to The Five.
