I found this book hilarious. I thought that Jules and Poppy were really interesting characters with tons of flaws but essentially just living normal lives with inane issues and too much time on social media. I thought Jules in particular as the narrator was fascinating in the way she explored the social dynamics with her and Poppy and then with their mom. LOVED scenes with the mother and the mommy's mentions.

Started out liking the storyline of two sisters with a complex relationship, still trying to figure out their adult selves in the shadow of their family history and dynamics. The main character is very frustrating. She is self-absorbed, mean for no reason, jealous, bitter, petty, addicted to the internet and worst of all has no understanding of her own flaws, projects onto everyone else, and experiences no growth. Honestly… pretty true to some millennials I’ve know. The ending however was terrible. I just don’t know why it needed to be so gruesome and upsetting. I think the author is trying to show how the main character is so depressed that she can’t feel anything in the face of an extremely shocking and upsetting event. But it just made me shocked and upset. Meh.
