Amazing cute book!! putting a mini review up on my channel - youtube.com/c/kwells7788
Short, sweet and to the point. This little book is chock full of tips, thoughts and ideas about dating and break ups. As a young lady that is in a relationship, I even enjoyed the reminder to be a little mysterious and to appreciate the good guy that I have in my life.
Jennifer Love Hewitt has been in the spotlight from a young age and so has her love life. Through this book she allows the reader a little behind the scenes peek into how she approaches new relationships and endures the break up. Even an ex (Jamie Kennedy) makes an appearance with a chapter on women's rear ends. I loved the women empowerment and the message that we are complete people even if we aren't in relationships.
If I didn't live with a boy, this would be the perfect book to put on the back of the toilet to encourage guests to pick up some relationship tips. I would almost compare this to a modern day Rules book where women can go to for the basic tips that a woman should now before, during and after a relationship.

I read this because one of my book challenges this year is to read a book by an author of the same name.
Thank goodness it only took 2 hours. Thank goodness she's only written 1 book if this challenge happens again.
So very much wrong with the attitudes in this book I don't even know where to start. So all I will say is, I hope my daughters never read this book.

Still as hilariously bad as it was when I read it in my 20s when a friend gave it to me as a gift.
I saw this at the library and couldn't resist. It read like a blog, was very entertaining (often unintentionally), and included a workout designed by JLH's trainer that I copied and am actually going to try to do! It probably took me less than an hour to read, too, so there's nothing to feel bad about. :)
Review: I am not sure really how to review this book. If it was marketed as her "How I got over my recent engagement and got a dating manifesto", I could have probably gotten it more. I think JLH is sweet and charming. Those personality traits come across in several sections of the book but it seems to me she wrote this book for her exes and/or her girlfriends to read. She is never mean to them but it does give a bit of that look where I am now vibe. It is kind of like "The Rules" in simpler terms and some of the examples she uses are extreme (maybe not in her world but the world in general). As far people complaining about how a constant dater is writing the book, that I have less of a problem with. In fact, this to me is where the book seems genuine. You can only know the trenches if you are still there. Most people I know get the "dating wasn't so bad" glasses once they are out of the dating pool. The book itself is quirky, funny,a bit uneven at time, and a quick read. The part I disliked the most was the Jamie Kennedy section and that probably was colored by their dating history. I am just not sure the book was marketed correctly so my rating is based on "is it a good self-help book for daters". So I ranked it 2 for the genre it was marketed too and probably a 3.5 if you pick it up for a fun read.

Somewhat unfair for me to review as I was offended and disgusted with this drivel halfway into the first chapter and didn’t continue. As other reviews have mentioned, I am not the target audience. If you have a brain, a career and care about yourself, you probably aren’t either.
informative
slow-paced
If I were single I'd probably found it more relevant and liked it better. It's witty and laugh out loud good in parts, but rather trite and seems to try to hard at the same time. If you like JLH, its worth a quick listen/read.
