Karen Kingsbury

3.7 AVERAGE

The Bridge is the first Karen Kingsbury book I have ever read, even though my grandmother and aunt have been telling me how amazing her stories are for YEARS. Well Mimi and Kellie, I agree. Karen Kingsbury's stories surround you and make you feel as if you are standing in the room witnessing every scene for yourself.
Kingsbury's characters are well developed and easy to relate to. When Molly was being stubborn and Ryan was giving up, I wanted to take them by the shoulders and shake some sense into them. When Charlie was crying and Donna was worrying, I wanted to hold their hands and comfort them.
The Bridge is a heart warming story that shows how even the small things can make a difference in someone's life in ways you can't even begin to imagine.

Yep

A schmaltzy Christmas story with strong religious overtones, average writing, yet kind of enjoyable. I'd kind of like to visit Franklin, TN.

What I loved about this book was the way the story began. I felt like I was right there in Portland, smelling the smells, seeing the sights and feeling the atmosphere of the bookstore called "The Bridge." The plot was sweet, but felt a little cliche at the end.

This book was a bit sad and full of tragedy but I was intrigued from the very beginning. The ending made me smile with joy.

Good book about rallying around a place that has meant so much to people because of the kind heart of the owner.
