Gostei :)

3 stars.

That was a very quick, if slightly too religious for me, read. Kinda Christmassy but not as Christmassy as I was hoping for. It did bring a tear to my eye which doesn't usually happen but I'm a sucker for Christmas carols (even though religion again) as they make me smile.

As I've said before religion just ain't my bag baby so I mean no offence to anyone.

I have really liked Karen Kingsbury's novels in the past. Yes, they can be a bit cheesy and overly sweet. But they are good enough to keep me reading. This one didn't live up to her normal levels, though. The romance was cliche-ridden and is exactly the reason I don't read romance novels. It just wasn't very good, and I can't say that I'd recommend it, even as a quick holiday read (the story happens during Christmastime).

This was very definitely a cutesy hallmark story.

Very cheesy with writing such as: "I'm a powerful businessman. I record all my conversations!" But it kept my attention for the most part! Happy and predictable, with only a few solemn chapters of a comatose character.

This was my first Karen Kingsbury novel, and I was not as impressed as I wanted to be, considering her popularity and the number of titles she's had published.
Overall, I felt that there was far too much "telling" in this novel. Jumping between four characters' POV in such a short piece (a novella, really) didn't allow any of them to be developed, and I hated that I just got snippets of each person. I also thought the ending was very rushed.
The bulkiness of this story and its characters would have made it a great full-length novel, but 272 small pages did it very little justice.

A great read from a new author to me and one that I will be gettign more books written by.
I had seen the film made of this book and really enjoyed it but the book gave more detail and like the film sucked you right in.
Would love to know what happened next.
Woudl recommend this book.

My friend worked this summer on the Hallmark movie based on this book-so I had to read it. And of course i loved it! Great feel good story just in time for Christmas season!

"Molly Allen lives alone in Portland, but she left her heart back in Tennessee with a man she walked away from five years ago. They had a rare sort of love she hasn’t found since. Ryan Kelly lives in Nashville after a broken engagement and several years on the road touring with a country music duo. He can still hear Molly’s voice encouraging him to follow his dreams; Molly, whose memory stays with him. At least he can visit The Bridge—the oldest bookstore in historic downtown Franklin—and remember the hours he and Molly once spent there. For thirty years, Charlie and Donna Barton have run The Bridge, providing the people of middle Tennessee with coffee, conversation, and shelves of good books—even through dismal book sales and the rise of digital books. Then in May, the hundred-year flood swept through Franklin and destroyed nearly every book in the store. Now the bank is pulling the lease on The Bridge. Despondent and without answers, Charlie considers the unthinkable. Then tragedy strikes, and suddenly, everything changes. In the face of desperate brokenness and lost opportunities, could the miracle of a second chance actually unfold?"

Karen Kingsbury is an amazing author, however, this was just not Karen’s best book. I would have liked more; not just a sappy Christmas miracle book. I am hoping she will write more to this series.

Tender and heartwarming

For sappy fiction it was good
