Hey Hi Hello🫠 It’s time for another episode of “WHY did I wait so long to read this book?!” (Again, Working Title)
Now let’s get into it!😅
First of all, what a way to kick off the month of August! Everyone who knows me knows I will never not be in my cowboy romance era🤭 And this book gave me everything I love in a romance and MORE! Two of my favorite tropes/micro tropes are “Secret Pining” and “Good Girl” and HELLO! Yall know as soon as I saw those I was like “give me 14 of em RIGHT NOW”🥴
Wyatt Rivers might be my all time favorite cowboy rn😋 We love a filthy mouthed cowboy who’s been secretly pining for his best friend since the 2nd grade🥹😌 and when I say filthy mouthed, I mean that in EVERY sense of the phrase, so do with that what you will😉🥵😩
And of course I have to give it up for my girl Sally. It took her a VERY long time to get there, but when she finally stood up for herself and was vocal about ALL of the things she wanted in her life, I found myself beaming like a proud mother🥹
I will say that my ONLY complaint was the confrontation at the end: her father pissed me off REAL BAD😂🙄🥴 And since this is a spoiler-free account, I will not be elaborating further, you’ll just have to go read the book!🤪
Overall, I absolutely LOVED this book and can’t wait to see what the rest of the Rivers brothers have in store🤭

This book was so diabetic coma sweet. Wyatt and Sally are so goofy and fun but at the same time so genuine and sincere and going through their journey was cathartic. That being said, this book is filled with my least favorite tropes, hence the “lower” (honestly three stars isn’t low to me) rating. I just have a really hard time with second chance, besties-to-lovers tropes and there were others sprinkled in, like the miscommunication and fake dating tropes, that really aren’t my fave. But for a book that has my absolute least favorite tropes I really did enjoy it which shows how good of a book it is. Also the fucking MOUTH on Wyatt. Jeeeeezus I loved it.

Wow!! I thought I like Cash’s story but I LOVED Wyatt’s! Sally and Wyatt are perfect together. I loved that they have been best friends for years (and secretly pining for one another.). The way Wyatt makes Sally find her confidence and she helps him heal from his grief is absolutely beautiful. This book was hot and sweet all at once. Definitely a must read.
Cute! A second-chance romance and it’s NOT a slow-burn!
