I have warm and kind feelings toward this book and its author. This paints a very wholesome and relatable picture of a life lived. But while this poetry book is exactly what both the blurb and some poems written in it promises it to be - just some musings, a collection of moments and thoughts attached to them - some scenes here seem so private I actually feel a little excluded as a reader. I'm reading the words, automatically assessing what little context I may know or at least guess at based on the other poems so far, seeing the scene in my mind, almost sensing it myself if it's well described, echoing an approximation of the right feelings... but in the end, it's not my experience, nor is it cleverly describing some bigger picture through a metaphor for me to decipher. I can try to fathom the importance of these words, but reading someone else's life like this is kind of a dupe of just living myself and writing my own version. Whether it's literal writing or just a life well lived.
