I loved parts of this and hated other parts, but man oh man I had no idea where it was going!

I think this was more like a 3.5 star for me, simply because (I now know) I don’t like age-gap romances. However, it is undeniable that Emezi’s writing is stunning, and there was still plenty of plot to enjoy even if the main romance was not for me.

This book was actually too good. I kept wanting to recommend it to someone I'm no longer on speaking terms with so I had to put it down.

Didn’t like the tropes that were in this and I couldn’t get on with the slang and way they talked. Pretty sure no one talks like that

Was a cute, short read. The drama was crazy lol but very entertaining!

Not a book for me. Didn’t enjoy it, but really wanted to. The cover is beautiful, love the title, but didn’t rate the story. It’s the first book I’ve read from this author and I don’t feel drawn to pick up another one. However, I can appreciate that some of the descriptive writing was well written and the scenes sounded idyllic. I just felt that there is relationship building missing within the story line for the outcome of it. It all felt too rushed for me to believe the development.

I was uncomfortable with the conclusion of the book and feel that there was a lot at jeopardy, potentially lost with such a rash choice.
