Cute, sweet, easy, hot, not much drama. It was hard to see Evan as 19; it seemed like he should be older with the talk of him running his grandpa’s store, his making of the apps, his leading the high school group. I was happy how Dawson’s sexuality was labeled in the end.

Oh, I absolutely loved this.
In another auhtor's hands, this might not have worked. But Evan, a shy, nerdy 19-year-old virgin and Dawson, a 22 or 23-year-old jock whose gone through some stuff, had such amazing chemistry, I just adored them together.
When Dawson comes to town, he's a little down on his luck. His was a big college football star, before a drunken fall off a roof after a fight with his girlfriend almost made him paralyzed. As it is, he broke his leg in like 3 plages, and his spine *was* bad, so bad that they didn't want to let him continue to play, because if he did take a bad hit on the field again - which, this is football, so he would - then he would most likely be paralyzed then.
Dawson was in a dark place after all that, and he lost almost everything. he even has no money when he gets to town and has to stay with his cousin, who happens to be Evan's best friend.
But he did get a job as an assistant coach at the local small town high school, and this is Dawson's chance to get his life put back together.
Evan is very smart, but he's got a lot going on his life as well. He gives too much and rarely takes for himself, constantly working too much. He works almost full time at his grandfather's hardware store in town, getting paid a lot less by his grandpa for how much he works, because his dad and grandpa had a falling out 3 years prior over how to run the business, and his grandfather has too much pride to let it go and make up with his son.
Also, he's getting up there in age and can't run the store all by himself. Evan also runs a tech club at the high school, developing an app with the tech students, all while developing his own app he hopes to make into a big thing one day.
But when Evan and Dawson meet at a party when Dawson first gets to town, Evan is immediately smitten. Dawson believed himself straight, so he didn't see it right away. But when they have to interact more when, as the assistant coach, Dawson is roped into helping with the tech club, because a few of his football players are asked to beta test the app the club is working on.
Soon, as they get to know each other more, the connection blooms between them and, Dawson starts to feel things for Evan, especially when he offers to help Evan sexually, as someone Evan can trust to make all his firsts good for him, and make him feel safe while he gets experience.
Of course, it being about just that falls by the wayside very quickly, although Dawson, having been burned before, is scared to let them be more than just friends with benefits.
But Evan obviously wants more, but he tries to shove that down, as he wants anything he can get with Dawson.
And of course they fall for each other and it's glorious and I just adored their chemistry together. It was very believable as these two fell fo each other.
I highly recommend this. It was just a good time all around. Two massive thumbs up from me!

3.5 stars. DJ Jamison's books are really hit and miss for me, with a lot of them ending up in the meh category, but I enjoyed this one. Both characters were cute and their connection made sense. I also liked that Dawson's newfound pansexuality wasn't an issue and that the stuff with his ex was dealt with swiftly and without too much unneccessary drama.

It was actually pretty cute. The characters were sweet and I like that the sexuality of Dawson was not a plot point that they broke up over or anything like that. It was refreshing. Solid read.
