I DEVOURED this book in about 24 hours! It was more in depth than many of the romance novels I’ve read before, and really made it hard to put down. The characters were well developed, showed growth, and there was definitely some spicy parts! With talk of consent! I loved this book, and will be seeking out more from this author.

DID NOT FINISH: 5%

Did not draw me in.  I couldn't connect. Boring.

Love the story and the parts where the characters are thinking. But the actual interactions between the two main characters seemed flat to me - the dialogue was stilted or something.

Donut Fall in Love by Jackie Lau was a cute, lighthearted romance—a nice palate cleanser between heavier reads. Set in Toronto, Ontario, it had all the cozy, Hallmark-esque vibes with a fun baker-celebrity romance dynamic.

Ryan and Lindsay had solid chemistry, and I enjoyed their banter and baking mishaps. While the story didn’t completely blow me away, it was still a charming, feel-good read with plenty of delicious donut descriptions to keep things interesting. Plus, I’ve been on a bakery romance kick lately, and this definitely scratched that itch!

Final Thoughts: A fun, easy read with sweet moments and a touch of depth. Not my favorite, but still enjoyable—especially if you love food-themed romances!

This was adorable and exactly what I needed this February. A fun, flirty, and heartwarming story that somehow weaves together the right amount of familial relationships, friendships & steam on top of a beautiful depiction of grief.

Actual 3.5 - Listened to this book at the wrong time; I just wasn’t into it. Originally I thought it was the audiobook narrators that I didn’t like (likely still a part of it), but the pacing was slow. The story just felt like it was never ending

Donut Fall in Love is breath of fresh air in the rom-com space. Lau unabashedly centers asian leads and give them beautiful HEAs. Fans of Crazy Rich Asians, here is your next obsession.
