This is possibly one of the worst books I have ever read. The characters are unlikable, the situations odd and disjointed. It starts off very slowly and then keeps turning into something else. At one point, a "deus ex machina" (perhaps literally) swoops in, fixes a few things and then disappears with no further reference. The utter contempt for the parents is disturbing, in spite of those adults' clear failing, yet the teens who are the main characters have very little to recommend them. The ending is left hanging. I hated it and would not recommend it to anyone.

Weirdly prophetic..... Also very authentic and engaging portrayal of the characters, especially the teens. This book isn't what you'd expect but I highly recommend it.
Very well-written. It's an allagory so throw realism out the window- no one acts the way that real people would. But don't read during the pandemic.
