Story of thee sisters who get dumped on the same day. We have Finola a TV show host, whose husband has an affair with a young pop star, Zennie a nurse who feels she is not cut out for pairing up and wants to be alone but also wants to be a surrogate mother for her friend. Then we have Ali, who is always overlooked gets dumped by her fiance 7 weeks before the wedding.
It was an ok read. I did not feel connected to any of the characters.

Full disclosure: I was provided a free copy of this book in return for my honest review.
It was an interesting book that caught, and kept my attention. The interesting progression of the story line was well developed and had a good conclusion. Though Mallery has a habit of taking one item, here the woe is me I’m never “seen” and forgotton, and dragging it on and on. She needs to develop some mechanism that captures the idea without beating a dead horse. Regardless, I enjoyed the book.

I didn’t have super high hopes for this book, I expected it to be a light beach read to distract me from the real world. However, it disappointed me anyways. While I usually read books in a day or two, hooked and unable to put them down, I almost gave up on this book altogether. It essentially was 350 pages of the sisters complaining about the same things over and over until finally they took initiative to change things in the last 50 pages, and yet they didn’t “find themselves” they simply found men. Maybe I could’ve given this book four stars had there not been blatant descriptions, maybe even encouragement of disordered eating. I thought surely this was going to be addressed at some point and Finola would get some help, but as it turns out, there was literally zero point to the inclusion of disordered eating other than to describe that it makes you skinny and makes people like you more?? Disappointing.
I love these sisters. Each one is so different and lovely! Each story is so interesting and insightful. Such a good story.
I really loved this book...Susan Mallery has just been a slam dunk for her past several books and this was no different.

I've been on a "light reading" kick more lately. I've just wanted to read easy things. So I picked up 5 books books by authors I've never read when I was last at work. 4 were cozies. And then there's this one. My coworker calls these "big girl books" when they're by authors who usually do straight romance, but then do these that are generally classified as "women's fiction." I'm not really sure what the difference is. Is it because there's less sex in these? The only straight romance I read tends to be historical regency, so I don't have much experience with modern romance. Anyway, that coworker had this on her recommended shelf, so I figured I'd try it.
I liked this one. It was light and I appreciated that there was the middle sister who wasn't conventional. But the parents were just awful and I hated them. I'll probably read more by this author at so e point.

Honestly, it was everything I thought it would be! Drama, tears, happiness. I fully recommend reading it!
premise:
Three sisters all get dumped on the same weekend. One sister is married and her husband is having an affair with a star on the rise. One sister is engaged to be married shortly. The other sister is in a non-serious relationship and it just wasn't right. They all go through their process of getting through.
personal reaction:
A non-committal read. I was hoping this would be more fun, but, it was a bit of a bore. It feels like it should be a better summer read. Not terrible, just dull. I don't even feel the need to do spoilers. It's a book you can read the path they're going on and instantly know how it ends.
