This was a fun read and I enjoyed reading about Nancy meeting Ned for the first time. The plot was good and kept me turning the pages to find out what happened.

4 stars. This one was a lot of fun. I particularly loved the beginning part of this. This was a fun case and it was also the introduction of Ned. He's a character I can take or leave but he was fine in this. Didn't get on my nerves or anything.

This is a fun mystery starring the first appearance of Ned, and it's definitely satisfying to see
rich people be punished for their greed

As a kid, I loved reading Nancy Drew. I read about a dozen or so growing up. I recently obtained about 15 hard cover Nancy Drew books from a neighbor's garage sale. I decided to try reading them to my 9 year old at night. He was decently entertained by this story, but I found it a little disappointing. As seems to be common, books written some time ago, these days, seem frivolous and silly. But also, the plot wasn't terribly complex. Maybe I am just a little too advanced of a reader for it at this point, though.:)

Ugh Ned Nickerson. Nancy could do better.

*I read the 1932 version.*

I was pleasantly shocked with this story! It had a simple mystery with logical clues and conclusions. It all added up in the end. And it had an interesting plot and mystery. I wish all of them were like this, but I know that isn't true. But that's okay! I enjoyed this one and that's all that matters!
