This was an interesting thriller, with a woman clearly trying to marry into a wealthy family, and a man who is all too eager to find a new wife after his ex-wife apparently dies in a boating accident. It drew me in, and the commentary on white suburban southern life was hilarious and had me laughing out loud. Enjoyed this one...3.5 stars rounded up.

Every single narrator in this book is crazy but it was still very fun to read what they had to say. I very much enjoyed the multiple POVs and how the author used time jumps to make the story as compelling and mysterious as possible.

2.5 stars rounded up. I've not read Jane Eyre so I can't say how the two books compare. This isn't a bad thriller but I didn't feel that the plot or characters were developed as much as they could have been. I felt like this compares to watching a movie that's entertaining and you enjoy it but it doesn't make you want to watch it again.

So, perhaps because I did not enjoy Jane Eyre in high school, and because I never read Rebecca, I might have felt a little out of the loop here.... I started to lose interest halfway through and then found all the twists and turns to be a little too much to be believable. I really want to give this 2.5 stars. Disappointed.

A silly fast pace thriller that was pretty predictable. But if you want a fairly mindless read I’d recommend it.
