4.5/5 - I’ve always loved and been so fond of The Selection <3 I had thought about rereading the series (only the first 3 cause they’re the only ones that count in my mind) but it was the Rin/Nezha Selection AU fic that really pushed me back in (albeit the fic is more violently graphic, but they both hit and I love them)
En blandning mellan Hunger Games och typ The Bachelor.

Honestly I didn’t expect to have as much fun reading this book as I did. I think the worldbuilding is very fragile and leaves a lot of questions if you look into it too hard, but for the most part the characters are very fun and the book is silly enough that it’s very entertaining.
I'm on the fence about this book. It's was written well and I am interested by the characters, but the world of the book and the plot are so misogynistic that at points I got very angry with the book.
It had an interesting mix of "Hunger Games" meets "The Bachelor". There was definitely characters that I can't wait to see develop. At the same time, I feel that. She cut it off at an interesting place, where the plot can go in many different directions.
⭐️2.8 - It's a no from me.

enjoyable fluffy YA
As a certified girly girl, I have no idea why I didn't pick this up sooner! Beautiful dresses, a palace and a prince - this book was my 13 year old heart's dream! As a 23 year old, at times it did feel a bit immature and unrealistic (security risk much??) but I suspended my belief and it was a great YA book.
I really enjoyed this book that I wanted to read because of the cover! I liked American Singer and Maxon, despite their names. But do not read this book for the dystopian element since that is not the focus if the book. Also I really hate this new trend for teen books to end ebruptly, leaving the reader hanging. It is very frustrating, especially when the next book hasn't even been announced yet!
