I’m a bit conflicted on this.
The cliffhangery reveal was way too obvious for me. I guessed it right away.

Then again, I did like the flowery writing and the angst.

I’m not blown away and this is perhaps more like 3.75 but the “I wish my love was more beautiful” quote is goddamn beautiful so… see? Conflicted.

Better than the first book for me - world building is already established which allowed for better focus on the characters (who are amazing). Severin's grief and corresponding change in behavior made sense but also took away some of the group chemistry, which is the best part :( Excited for the final book.

This book was slow, halting in some ways, and the descriptions didn't work for me this time. Nevertheless, the ending was certainly interesting, even if the reveal wasn't all that surprising. I'll definitely read the next book, if only because of that ending.
