Somehow, I missed these as a kid. Jackson loved it. It's one of those classic stories that's not written down, so adults can find lots to enjoy too. The author does a great job of finding scenarios into which Paddington can insert himself and get into all kinds of hilarious mischief. I'm not going to plow through these, but Jackson is just about to the point where he'd read through these himself.
Read aloud with kids. They rated it 4 stars. Favorite part was the beach.
Zo'n leuk boekje! Ik weet dat het voor kinderen bedoeld is maar toch vond ik het geweldig!
“Mr. and Mrs. Brown first met Paddington on a railway platform.” And this is where their adventures begin! Nothing is ever normal or by-the-book with Paddington around.
When author Michael Bond passed away late last month, I realized I had never actually read any Paddington books – or if I had it was as a child and the memory of them has slipped away. So, I wanted to read his origin story. I’m so glad I did. I had to have read this as a young girl because his (mis)adventures seemed like cobweb covered memories. He is such a delightful bear who makes every day seem special. This re-read brings this treasured classic back to mind and back into my stock of “you simply must reads” for youngsters visiting the library!
Note: Accelerated Reading Level is set at 4.7. Some tough vocabulary contained in these pages (emigrated, for example). Content suitable for all ages.

My review of the print edition may be found here.
I was going through Overdrive to see what books Stephen Fry had narrated that were available for borrowing and I stumbled across this childhood classic – forgetting I had just read the print in 2017! Oh well, when Stephen Fry narrates, I listen … no matter what!
Again, the (mis)adventures of this silly bear are fun and Fry’s narration is an added bonus. I was amazed again that no characters seemed to be too hung up on the fact that a talking bear was in their midst but just went with it as if his presence was 100% normal. Such fun stories. Should be shared with all little ones!

Very cute, very fun book. Who doesn't love Paddington?
