This is seriously one of the best books I have read all summer. Imagine curious George as a bear in the middle of London. He has got a whole family of people taking him on new adventures that gets into a whole mess of trouble with. It is laugh out loud funny, and I can’t wait to get the others.
The bear from Darkest Peru has absconded with my heart.

Some wisdom from A Bear Called Paddington:
Having read [b: From the Mixed-Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler|3980|From the Mixed-Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler|E.L. Konigsburg|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1327784751l/3980._SY75_.jpg|1384549] earlier this year, I've sort of been having a moment with children's literature. I even planned some rereads: Matilda, the Narnia series, and even Harry Potter. After having only gotten through the first Harry Potter, I realized I wanted to read something new, so I decided to look for children's books I missed out on; books I wish I grew up with.
Along with Mrs. Basil E., Paddington was one of those. I really enjoyed this read! I loved seeing the world through Paddington's point of view and finding childish joy in the smallest, most mundane things in life. It's kind of what we need right now. It's just really wonderful to rediscover the types of books that made me fall in love with reading in the first place.
"One advantage of being a very small bear in a large bed was that there was so much room."
