This was so dull. The audiobook might be good for naptime or bedtime because the stories are fairly mundane. Paddington mentions coming from "darkest Peru" several times. Surely his backstory and his trek to London would have made for a better story than his joining a humdrum British family and becoming "civilized."
A timeless children's classic. Enjoyable to read (even at 26).

I just recently watched the newest film adaptation of Paddington's story, so I figured it was time to re-read the book as well.
A fun account of Paddington's misadventures. This is a hilarious book that is also heart warming. Each chapter describes a different adventure from going shopping to doing magic tricks. This format makes for good bedtime stories. Very silly and humorous. I really enjoyed the stories.

When I was a kid, we watched the Paddington tv show, but I'd never read the book. This classic story is sweet and funny and Stephen Fry is an excellent reader. This would be a great car-listening choice for families with young children.

this was cute.
i grew up with a different adventurous stuffed animal - felix, a stuffed bunny that travels around the world and writes letters back home where his human family waits for him to come back.
so similar but different.
but enough for me to keep comparing for some unknown reason i don’t even understand myself - and since i grew up loving one but not the other, paddington just fell a bit short for me.
i think to love this you have to either grow up with it or read it and experience it with a child who’s growing up with the story.
it’s lovely but so over the top and ridiculous that kids might find it funny but as an adult it’s just a bit too much.
i can see why people love it though.
