Paddington is a wonderful book and character for anyone, child and adult alike. It made me laugh out loud and makes me tear with joy. He is a proud, stubborn,curious little bear who questions the why's and wherefores of humans and adults. The films are also excellent and I'm pleased to say really capture the original characters and the stories warmth and humour. I think we all wish we knew Paddington.
A little reminder of my childhood :) this was quite enjoyable to read! Although there are some bits that feel a little antiquated/seeming to suggest slightly problematic views, I found this book to be overall very endearing. I am a huge Paddington fan, and I’m happy that reading this book rekindled that for me! Definitely a light, fun book to read.

5/5 stars. I love Paddington so much that as soon as I started reading this again tears came to my eyes. He's just so darn lovable and sweet! His misadventures are absolutely endearing, hilarious, and a thrill to read. Brings me back to my childhood listening to the stories on tape. He is just so cute :')

I just love this book. I had never really read it. Someone might have read some Paddington to me when I was a child, but it is clear I've missed something greatly. In any case, I love the style and atmosphere of this book. It is very different from the film, and that's a good thing (not that I dislike the film). It has that classic English children's books atmosphere and I just loved it. Great! I'm happy I discovered it so that my children later can get familiar with Paddington!
A mis hijos les gustó mucho, pero yo lo encontré molesto por momentos. Se supone que el oso se mete en toda clase de problemas porque es inocente y no conoce nada de la vida moderna, y esto sirve como un mensaje sobre los valores en la modernidad; sin embargo, en varias ocasiones se mete en problemas por terco y necio, no por inocente, y eso hizo que simplemente me cayera mal. Algo positivo fue ver que mis hijos reprobaban muchas de las acciones de Paddington, y eso significa que entienden que el oso está haciendo algo malo o indebido ... por lo menos para eso resultó positivo ... lo malo es que ya estamos listos para el segundo libro :P

I know this is technically a children's book series, but after seeing the Paddington film and loving it immensely, I realized that I had shockingly never read any Paddington books when I was a child. I am so glad to be rectifying this now. This book was adorable, charming, heartwarming and actually made me laugh out loud many times. Like the film, I see this appealing to both adults and children alike. It is perfect for when you need something to make you smile and I will definitely be reading the rest in the Paddington series!
