DID NOT FINISH

I actually read half of the nurseydex fic but dropped it when nursey got pulled over by a cop. Here’s my question to white writers: why do you think it’s ok to use racial trauma as a plot device in your stories? Anyway this fic is why I’ve been extremely wary of reading nurseydex fics, but specifically ones written by white check please fans.

This was fine, as far as Dex/Nursey fics go. I prefer their dynamic with characters in the original college age range, and I think the second half of the plot would've felt more natural if they were even slightly older.

All Hail the Underdogs would be sitting at a 2.5, but that Pride and Prejudice hand flex bit really got a surprised guffaw out of me. Don't think I've ever guffawed before. A solid .25 bump for that.

EDIT: Okay, just went down an insane rabbit hole and have to bring this way down to a flat two. The more I learn about this work the more I feel slapped in the face. It was readable, as fanfiction often is, and that is it.

I still find myself thinking of opening of Damien's point of view, years after reading the story that would become this book. Lucifer was an angel once. What follows is an excellent story about learning to trust love and talk about feelings and that sometimes, art can be both bigger than life and also be a thing that you get to touch (except touching would be a bad idea). E. L. Massey always tells a good story with lovable characters that I keep finding myself drawn to.

Devoured this in two days. Absolutely adored Damien and Rome. I love how they came together and they matured a lot throughout the novel. Not sure the ending was entirely believable, but it was cute and it worked. Loved all the side characters too.
