A story of trauma, love, loss, grief, resilience and how the mind processes it has an affect on the future of one’s life.

This read almost like an adult Jacqueline Wilson novel so props to it for that. Wild.

I loved this book. Written so well, it just flowed from page to page. A beautiful story that was sad but also uplifting.

If I had to rate all of Lisa Jewell's books I've read to date, this is easily my favorite. It's so different from any of her other novels. Not only is this mysterious and captivating like her other works, but this is poignant, touching, and it moved me to tears numerous times. This is beautifully written and deserves a lot more attention. If you liked The Family Upstairs, this had a similar vibe, but much better in my opinion. This is a lot different than my typical reads, but sometimes a slow burn mystery that punches me in the feels is just what I need.
