DANG The way I binged this book! I'm currently going back through this series after reading the Hebert's stories in Pain in the Axe, etc. And Paz's story flew in under the radar for me. Parker was a spitfire and definitely not a damsel in distress. The way she swooped in and saved Paz and he saves her right back. *insert swoon here* Their bickering and teasing made me grin throughout the entire story. And I couldn't be happier to see part of this crime ring taken down. I will say I am surprised that Parker and Hazel didn't have much face time together. But I understand why Parker and Adele got close, they are two peas in a pod. I also loved Liv's threats toward Paz.
I just can't say enough good things about this series! And Daphne's books in general.

If there’s one thing Daphne Elliot knows how do it’s to write a lumberjack (lumbersuit/lumbersnack), a badass FMC, and some seriously good smut.
Pascal is back in his hometown after the death (alleged MURDER!) of his dad. This leads him to hire former cop, Parker to investigate what actually happened to his dad in order for his family to finally gain some closure.
One thing is for sure, something is definitely going on in the small, sleepy town of Lovewell.
I enjoyed this book, it was a bit of a slow moving book for sure but I had a lot of fun reading it.
The banter between Paz and Parker was so good and the tension was palpable. Daphne Elliot knows exactly how to write lumberjack smut and I am so here for it. I will eat it up every single time.
tropes:
— fake dating
— opposites attract
— forced proximity
— no third act break-up
— idiots-to-lovers
— badass FMC
— smalltown
That being said, I felt like a lot of the suspense was a bit glazed over. I wish it hadn’t felt so bland. That’s my only gripe, other than that, I had such a fun time reading. I’ll definitely be reading the series.
Thank you to Daphne Elliot for the e-ARC.

I've loved this series from the beginning and this was the perfect addition! I love all the characters in Lovewell.
Pascal and Parker can't stand each other but she agrees to be his fake girlfriend for cover and to live in his farmhouse. What could possibly go wrong? Parker is everything a great FMC should be, smart, strong, independent, and a little messy. Pascal is the type of person that likes order and being in control. I loved how they interacted with each other. This book had a great story and great character development.
This book is great as a standalone but I highly recommend reading this series. I read this as part of an ARC, thank you Daphne!

I am beautifully wholly wonderfully obsessed. I completely expected to hate Pascal with a passion as I have for the first two books. Talk about a redemption! Nothing could have prepared me for the relationship and take no shit Parker!
I am amazed yet again how Daphne has managed to weave a beautiful romance and not forget about the underlying mystery of Frank Gagnon’s “accident” and Henri’s accident. This book beautifully progressed my love for the Gagnon family. The character development was there and after that epilogue and the bonus one too….. I am so ready for Adele’s story!

I really enjoyed this addition to the Lovewell Lumberjacks! Daphne Elliot really brought her A-game for this one.
The set up for the fake dating is believable and created great sexual tension too. I loved Parker. She was such a fun character. I especially liked seeing her show off her PI skills. She was clever and could knock Pascal down a few pegs. Pascal took a little warming up to since I really wasn't a fan of his in the previous books but his interactions with Parker and his love for his family won me over. The relationship is developed at the perfect pace and definitely delivered on the spice (piano scene!). The mystery was interesting too.
I loved seeing some of characters from previous books too (Remy & Hazel are my faves after all). Plus our favourite moose Clive made an appearance too.
Overall, another great read from this family of lumberjacks. Would recommend if you enjoy fake dating, opposites attract, forced proximity, romantic suspense, top notch banter, steamy romances and no 3rd act breakups.

I thought Remy was my favorite Gagnon but move over Remy, Paz is my favorite! I've been waiting for Paz's book and it's finally here!
If you love small town, lumberjack *lumbersuit ;)*, forced proximity, opposites attract, fake dating, then this is definitely a book you don't want to miss out on!
I love a good fake dating romance and Daphne sure hit it out of the park with this one. Pascal is definitely redeemable in his book which I love a book where the difficult main character gets redeemed. Daphne did a great job! I mean Paz is guarded, a grump, and will do anything for his family when they're trying to figure out how their father died. That's where Parker comes in as she is a P.I. and oh boy, she is a tough woman. She's strong and doesn't take anyone's crap, especially Paz!
These two together? Wow, better bring a fire extinguisher or two. Their chemistry is so hot and I loved the banter between them.
I can't wait to read the next book!

✨ARC Review✨
We are back in Lovewell Maine and we’re about to see Pascal Gagnon meet his match! .
Pascal has been searching for someone that will help his family investigate his Father’s death. Enter Parker Harding. Former police sergeant turned private investigator. Paz knows her to be the kind of determined woman who doesn’t give up no matter what and trusts that she will be able to solve the mystery surrounding his Father’s death.
Since Lovewell is a small town and Parker needs a good cover they decide she’ll play the part of Paz’s girlfriend. YUP slick, suave and charming ladies man Paz has to pretend to be someone’s boyfriend. Parker is brilliant at her job and it’s not long before the pieces of the puzzle start falling into place.
The only problem? When they swore to keep things professional and wind up hooking up during a snowstorm. With the lines having been blurred and the mystery taking turns I never saw coming the chemistry between the two of them reaches a fever pitch and there may be no going back.
.
LOVED Paz’s story just like I knew I would!! I was so happy to get to see more of Paz and learn about him because he’s always been on the fringe and clearly harboring some secrets and issues. Parker is my favorite kind of heroine. Strong, sassy, confident and gives just as good as she gets. I did NOT expect the level of mystery that Daphne delivered in this book! It was incredible and kept me wondering what was going on right up until the end!
